On Sunday, December 8, 2024, actor, cultural architect and speaker, Charles Reese was recognized as an exceptional talent in the voiceover industry during the 11th Annual Voice Arts® Awards Gala hosted by The Society for Voice Arts and Sciences (SOVAS™).
The Outstanding Spoken-Word/Storytelling Category win comes only 6 months after the release of “James Baldwin & Me: A Centennial Tribute” (released to all digital streaming platforms on June 6, 2024).
The 14-track album features poems written by the late playwright Howard B. Simon and Charles Reese, backed by musical soundscapes produced by Everett Moon. Album contributions also include vocalist, Dwight Trible, and saxophonist Kenneth Brown II.
